One Mom’s Story: Amber and her Twins Ava and Leah

Twins Ava and Leah

Imagine the surprise when you find out you’re pregnant–now magnify that when the ultrasound shows TWO little babies instead of one! First time mom Amber, from San Dimas, CA went through those exact emotions. Now, think about when those babies come–not only was Amber dealing with her new role as a mom, but she’s also figuring out things like changing a diaper (two at a time) and breastfeeding (again, two at a time!). Emotions run high. Now add to the mix the fact that the babies are colicky. Oh the fun! At this point, I would be put over the edge.

Amber says that both of her girls seemed to have colic and reflux. She talked to her pediatrician about it and was simply told she’d have to wait it out–that the twins would eventually outgrow their colic. Whooping Cough-It’s a Reality

If you’ve picked up a parenting magazine recently, you’ve seen the ad for the whooping cough vaccination. An adorable baby making a adorable face with the headline saying something like, “What Mom? A similar, milder disease is caused by B. parapertussis.[1]  Although many medical sources describe the whoop as “high-pitched”, this is generally the case with infected babies and children only, not adults.[2]

One Mom’s Story: Holly and Danny

pica, Nexium, Esomeprazole, ph diet, body balance, frugal living, natural living, natural medicine, infant reflux, infant reflux in toddlers,

Danny, looking happy and a lot less gassy. :)

This week’s “One Mom’s Story” comes to us from Panama, New York. We hear about Colic Calm helping newborns, but you don’t really hear about the toddler-set, which is what grabbed my interest with Holly’s story. Read on to learn how Colic Calm helped her son, Danny.

Holly was no stranger to a baby crying—as a veteran mom to three kids, she knew what a newborn was all about. But what she didn’t get was why Danny, her youngest child, was losing weight and why, at 15 months of age, his stools were runny and had the consistency of a newborn’s, though he was eating solids and being weaned from the breast.

Holly describes Danny’s Continue reading
