One Mom’s Story: Aimee and Baby Ryan
Having Baby #2 is a whole lot easier—you know what to expect with the delivery, you have a handle on nursing, and you don’t have to buy all the equipment. For Aimee, it also meant she knew the signs of reflux. Her eldest child, Katie, was diagnosed with reflux, but as Aimee says, “My daughter had reflux as an infant and was put on Zantac. It did work, but I hated giving such a little baby prescription medication everyday.” So when Ryan, her second child, would cry and showed signs of distress, she knew that, once again, it could be a result of reflux.
Katie describes those times. . .
“I was stressed after most feedings, knowing my little guy would be in pain. He was just so uncomfortable and I couldn’t do anything to help him. Nights were worse and he would only sleep if held upright on me or my husband. It was rough getting no sleep and having to take care of two little ones (Katie was only 21 months old, so she was a baby herself) the next day.”
“Ryan started showing all the symptoms Katie had and before I put him on medication I wanted to try something more natural if it existed, which luckily I found out it did. I was searching the internet for natural reflux relief for infants and came across it. The reviews sounded wonderful, so I thought it couldn’t hurt to try it.”
Then one night, in the wee hours of dawn, as four-week-old Ryan screamed and screamed Aimee had had enough. It was time to try Colic Calm. Desperate, she ran out to CVS and purchased a bottle. And it worked; at last sleep came to the family.
Aimee says, “I administer it when I see him showing the first showing symptoms (screaming after feedings, arching back, fussiness) and at night.”
As Aimee says when finishing up her interview, “. . . it has made a world of a difference.”
